In the faculty of medicine, which is a stressful and challenging learning process, the stress levels of men and girls and the ways to cope with are different. Smoking is seen as a solution in dealing with stress, and has a negative impact on the quality of life due to the morbidity it causes. Students who are studying at the Faculty of Medicine were aimed at assessing gender-based smoking, detected stress and quality of life. The study is a cutting-edge type research conducted in January-March 2019. The subject and purpose of the study was explained after the oral approvals were distributed to the students pre-prepared survey forms. The survey form consists of questions about the socio-demographic characteristics of students, the Detected Stress Scale (ASO) and the European Health Effect Scale-8 (EUROHISQOL -8). The data was evaluated in the SPSS (V15.0) statistical package program. In the analysis of the data were used kicar, Mann Whitney U and student t tests. The statistical significance value p ≤ 0.05 was taken. Results: 494 (49.3%) of the 1002 students who make up the working group are men. The smoking rate was 28.3 percent (284 percent), 33.6 percent (166 percent) in men and 23.2 percent (118 percent) in girls, and the smoking rate was higher in men. The class that was studied in men, the family income status, the mother and father’s educational status, and the frequency of smoking were not determined; the average age of smokers was higher than those who didn’t drink. There is no difference in the frequency of smoking according to the classroom and the mother’s educational status in the girls; the family’s income status is better and the father’s educational status is higher in the high school and above. The average age of girls who smoked was higher than those who didn’t drink. There was no difference between the two sexes between the smokers and the non-smokers. There was no difference between the girls who smoked and the girls who didn’t drink from EUROHISQOL-8 and the men who smoked were lower in scale. In the study group, there was a negative relationship between the points obtained from ASÖ and EUROHISQOL-8. The rate of smoking is higher in men. The social health-related role model in the medical faculty students are required to fight smoking programs.
