Abstract:

This study aims to briefly introduce Mbahat Turker Küyel, one of the first philosophers in the field of philosophy in the Republic of Turkey, and to reveal his contribution to the history of Turkish-Islamic thought. Mbahat Turker Küyel has grown up in this period and has made significant contributions in the field of philosophy in Turkey. One of the main reasons for the purpose of this research is that the studies on the Kiyel are not enough to be said to be done. A small number of these studies can be given an example of a master's thesis prepared on his life, works and basic opinions. In addition, there are several important book sections written about Kiyel. Our work, after giving brief information about Küyel’s life and works, differs from other studies in the direction of identifying his contributions to the Turkish and Islamic thought through his works. When the works of Küyel are carefully studied, it will be seen that he has various special works on Turkish philosophers such as Fârâbî, Harezmî, Beyrûnî and Ibn Sîna. The thesis of the PhD in Philosophy and Religious Relationship, which covers the important matters of his Islamic philosophy, remains important. Especially with his translations and pleasures about Farabi, it is necessary to say that Küyel stands in a very important place in terms of the work of Islamic philosophy in Turkey. In addition to this, it is necessary to know the importance of Muslim Turkish thinkers such as Yusuf Has Hacip, Ahmet Yesevî and Yunus Emre, as well as the need for Islamic pre-Turkish state men such as Bilge Kağan and Tonyukuk. When the studies are examined in a comprehensive manner, the contribution of Küyel to the Turkish-Islamic thought will be clearer. In this study, the monographic characteristic has been scaned literature and the descriptive method has been used.
