Bu çalışmada, Erzincan ve Tokat’ta büyük yıkıma sebep olan “1939 Erzincan Depremi” ve bu deprem üzerine yazılmış bir şiir incelenmiştir. 13 Kasım 1940 tarihli “Destân-ı Zelzele” başlığını taşıyan bu şiirde, depremin sonuçları didaktik bir üslupla ele alınmıştır. Şiirde Erzincan ve Tokat ile Reşadiye, Erbaa, Niksar ve köylerinde meydana gelen yıkım ele alınmıştır. Arap harfleriyle yazılmış olan şiir, iki bölümden meydana gelmekte, biri kayıp olmak üzere on iki sayfa ve otuz dokuz dörtlükten oluşmaktadır. Destan on birlik hece ölçüsünde yazılmış ve bazı kelimeler Tokat ağzıyla imla edilmiştir. Şairin adının Bilâl, mahlasının Firkatî olduğu, daha çok Erbaa köylerinin deprem sonrası durumlarını tasvir ettiği görülmektedir.

In this study, the "1939 Erzincan earthquake" which has caused major destruction in Erzincan and Tokat and a poem written on this earthquake has been studied. In this poem entitled "Destân-i Zelzele" on November 13, 1940, the results of the earthquake were discussed in a didactic manner. In the poem, Erzincan and Tokat and Reşadiye, Erbaa, Niksar and the villages were addressed. The poem, which is written in Arabic letters, consists of two sections, one of which is 12 pages lost and thirty-nine-quarters. It is written in the size of ten units, and some words are printed with the mouth of Tokat. The poet’s name is Bilâl, his neighborhood is Firkatî, most of which depicts the situation after the earthquake in the village of Erbaa.
