Özet:

In the present research, which aimed to examine the relationship between prospective teachers’ cultural intelligence levels and attitudes towards cultural heritage, the relative screening method, as one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The research was conducted with 372 prospective teachers studying at the Faculty of Education of Pain Ibrahim Chechen University in the 2018-2019 academic year. In the research, the "Cultural Intelligence Scale", prepared by Ang et al. (2007) and adapted to Turkish by Ilhan and Çetin (2014), and the "Cultural Heritage Attitude Scale" developed by Akbaba (2014) were used. The results of the study revealed that there is a moderate positive relationship between prospective teachers’ cultural intelligence levels and their attitudes towards cultural heritage in terms of sub-dimensions, that is between meta-cognition and sensitivity to cultural heritage and the transfer of cultural heritage, between motivation and sensitivity to cultural heritage and the transfer of cultural heritage, and between behavior and sensitivity to cultural heritage and the transfer of cultural heritage. Besides, a moderate positive relationship between prospective teachers’ cultural intelligence levels and their attitudes towards cultural heritage was determined. Based on the revealed relationship, it was concluded that prospective teachers’ cultural intelligence levels had a significant moderate relationship with their attitudes towards cultural heritage. In the research, additional analyses according to the variables were performed and the obtained results were presented within the study.
