Abstract ABSTRACT Diets is the material that most costs production up to 70 % of operational costs. One effort that can be made to increase growth while reducing production costs is to add natural ingredients in the form of turmeric to the commercial feed. The purpose of the study was to discover the effects of additional turmeric extract (Curcuma longa LINN) as natural ingredients on the growth performance and survival rate of cobia (Rachycentron canadum). This research method used a completely random design with four treatments. Each treatment were to have different extract dose, A 0 ml/kg as a control, (extract dose B 5 ml/kg, C 10 ml/kg and D 15 ml/kg). The extract of Turmeric is sprayed on commercial feed according to dosage of each treatment. At the end of maintenance parameters observed include the absolute weight, food convertion ratio, specific growth rate, daily growth rate, feed intake, and survival. The result of observing the growth performance of cobia with additional extract turmeric, wich the optimum dose is 15 ml/kg capable of producing maximum absolute weight of 35,75 g, total lenght of 9,33 cm, Specific Growth Rate of 2,00 % ind. /day, Food Convertion Ratio of 0,75 %, Feed Intake of 655,33 g, Efficiency Feed of Utilization of 145,20 %, Protein Efficiency Ratio of 2,79 % and Survival Rate of 100%.
