18. ve 19. yüzyıllar arasında yaşanan Sanayi Devriminden sonra değişen tüketim alışkanlıkları ve üretimde makineleşmeyle birlikte, köyden kente göç, işçi sınıfının ortaya çıkması, gelir dağılımındaki adaletsizlikler, kadın erkek eşitliğine dair söylemler gibi birçok değişim yaşanmıştır. Bu değişimler sanat ve sanatçılar üzerinde derin izler bırakmıştır. Özellikle felsefenin sanat üzerindeki etkileri kendini iyiden iyiye hissettirmeye başlamış bu bağlamda özü araştıran, derinliğe yönelten düşünceler ortaya çıkmıştır. I. Dünya Savaşı ve sonrasında yaşanan acılar, kayıplar ve bunları tecrübe eden yeni kuşak sanatçılar, başkaldırı halinde 19. yüzyıl sanatsal etkinliklerini silme, kalıplaşmış beğenileri yıkma çabası içerisine girmişlerdir. Tüm bu aykırı görüşler Dadacılık akımında dile getirilmiştir. Bu akım Tristian Tzara’nın önderliğinde 1916’da Zürih’te doğmuş ve kısa bir süre de harekete katılım artmıştır. II. Dünya Savaşı ve sonraki yıllar içerisinde daha çok görülmeye başlayan sanatta hazır yapım nesnelerinin var oluşu ve yenilikçi sanat anlayışıyla sanatçıların kendini ifade edişleri, Postmodern Sanatın içerisindeki melez ifade, enstalasyon sanatı, kamusal sanat, arazi sanatı, performans sanatı gibi bir çok sanat türünde gözlenmektedir. 20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında tüm dünyayı politik, kültürel, ekonomik ve sosyal bakımdan olağanüstü bir şekilde etkileyen iki büyük savaşın yarattığı artçı etkileriyle beslenen bir dünya içerisinde doğmuş olan Barbara Kruger bir sanatçı ve tasarımcı olarak çağdaş sanatın tüm kazanımları ve hatta yönlendirmeleri çerçevesinde, sanattaki değişimlere ve gelişimlere dâhil olmuştur. Kavramsal sanatçılar arasında önemli bir yere sahip olan, Barbara Kruger’ın tipografik enstalasyonları bu çalışma kapsamında ele alınarak yorumlanmış ve değerlendirilmiştir.
With the changing consumption habits and machinery in production after the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries, many changes have occurred, such as migration from the village to the city, the emergence of the working class, injustice in the income distribution, and the words about women and men’s equality. These changes have left deep traces on artists and artists. Especially the effects of philosophy on art have begun to feel from good to good in this context, the ideas that investigate the essence have emerged to the depth. The new generation of artists who experienced the suffering, losses, and the successive world war, in the event of rebellion, entered into an effort to eliminate the artistic events of the 19th century, to destroy the shaped pleasures. All these contradictions were expressed in the Dadacity stream. This stream was born in Zurich in 1916 under the leadership of Tristian Tzara and increased its participation in the movement for a short time. and II. The existence of ready-made objects in the art that began to be seen more in the course of the World War and the following years, and the artists’ self-expression with the innovative art understanding, the postmodern art is observed in many kinds of art, such as the expression of melez, installation art, public art, land art, performance art. 20 is. Barbara Kruger, born in a world in the first half of the century, feeding by the increasing effects of the two great wars that greatly influenced the whole world in political, cultural, economic and social terms; as an artist and designer, she has been involved in the changes and developments in the art in the framework of all the achievements and even guidelines of contemporary art. Barbara Kruger's typographical installations, which have an important place among conceptual artists, have been interpreted and evaluated by addressing in this work.
