Özet:

Estimating the length of stay in the hospital for Covid-19 patients treated as an inpatient is very important in terms of determining and planning hospital bed capacities in the fight against this disease. Global studies have shown that the length of hospital stay of patients differs according to demographic characteristics such as the age and gender of the patient, as well as the country they live in. In this study, cox regression model and chi-square tests from survival analyzes were used to determine the factors related to the duration of hospitalization of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine and to determine the risk factors that may affect their survival times. It was determined that men who were treated as inpatients in the hospital had a longer hospital stay than women. It was observed that increasing age was associated with longer hospital stay. In the study, it was tested that age, gender and health insurance system were effective on the survival time of the patients treated in the hospital. Considering the relevant factors, the fight against the COVID-19 disease is thought to be important in determining and planning hospital bed capacities so that a crisis environment does not occur.
