Edebi eserler yazıldıkları çağ ve toplumun kültürel ve düşünsel unsurlarından beslenirler. Eserlerin olgunlaştığı toplumun şartları, o dönem edebiyatının estetik değerlerinin yanı sıra eserin yapısını da etkiler. Böylelikle edebi eserler yazıldıkları dönemin ruhunu yansıtırlar. Edebiyat toplumdan beslenirken, aynı zamanda toplumu değiştirme, geliştirmeye, iyileştirmeye yarayan bir araca da dönüşür. Bu yönleri ile edebi eserler aynı zamanda toplumu eğitme amacına hizmet eden araçlar olarak yorumlanabilir. Alman Orta Çağı’nın kültürel ve düşünsel yaşamının temelindeki en önemli unsurlardan birisi Hristiyanlıktır. Bu nedenle Orta Çağ Alman Edebiyatı dini bir karakteristiğe sahiptir. Kilisenin egemenliğindeki düşünce ve kültür dünyası Tanrı-Dünya zıtlığından yararlanmıştır. Öteki dünya ile olan ilişki ve kurtuluşa giden yol bu dünyadan geçer. Kişi sonsuz kurtuluşa ermek için doğası gereği meylettiği günahlardan kaçınarak, Tanrı’nın merhametine sığınmalıdır. Dönemin yazarları iyi bir teoloji eğitimi almış olduklarından, eserlerinde Hristiyanların temel öğretilerini ve dönemin dini felsefesini de eserleri aracılığıyla dinleyiciye aktarırlar. Eserlerde dinleyicilere edebi karakterler aracılığıyla, dünya hayatını nasıl geçirmeleri gerektiği ile ilgili örnekler sunulur. Böylelikle dinleyicileri eğitme amacı güdülmüştür. Bu çalışmamızda Alman Orta Çağ Edebiyatı’nın önemli ozanlarından Hartmann von Aue’nin ‘’Der arme Heinrich’’ adlı eserinde ‘’Günah- Kefaret- Bağışlanma’’ olgusu incelenecektir. Eserin baş karakteri Heinrich’in hastalanma ve iyileşme sürecinin ‘’Günah- Kefaret- Bağışlanma’’ olgusu bağlamında incelenmesinden yola çıkacağımız bu çalışmadaki amacımız ozanın eserle hedeflemiş olabileceği öğretileri ortaya çıkarmaktır.
Literary works feed on the cultural and mental elements of the age and society in which they are written. The conditions of the society in which the works mature, in addition to the aesthetic values of the literature of that time, also influence the structure of the work. Thus, literary works reflect the spirit of the time they were written. While literature feeds from society, it also turns into a tool to change, develop, and improve society. With these aspects, literary works can also be interpreted as tools that serve the purpose of educating society. One of the most important elements in the basis of the cultural and intellectual life of the German Middle Ages is Christianity. Therefore, the medieval German literature has a religious character. The world of thought and culture under the rule of the Church has benefited from the God-World contradiction. The relationship with the other world and the way to liberation passes through this world. In order to reach eternal salvation, the person must refuge in the mercy of God, by avoiding the sins he commits for his nature. Since the authors of the time have received a good theological education, they in their works transmit to the listener the basic teachings of Christians and the religious philosophy of the time through their works. The works present the listeners through literary characters, examples of how they should spend the world life. This is the purpose of teaching the listeners. In this work we will study the phenomenon of "Greath-Kefaret-Forgiveness" in Hartmann von Aue's work "Der arme Heinrich" from the main branches of the German Medieval Literature. The main character of the work is Heinrich’s study of the illness and healing process in the context of the “Greatness-Forgiveness-Forgiveness” phenomenon, our purpose in this work is to reveal the teachings that the ozon may have been targeted by the work.
Literary works are fostered by the cultural and intellectual elements of the age and society which produces them. The social condition in which the works are produced influences the structure of each work, as well as defining the aesthetic values of the literature of the period. This is how literary works reflect the ethos of the age in which they are written. Literature, on this account, depends on the society as its source, at the same time serving as a means of change, progress and improvement for the society itself. Therefore, it is also possible to consider literary works as instruments that serve the purpose of educating the society. Christianity is an essential element in the cultural and intellectual life of Medieval Germany. As a result of this, Medieval German Literature is characteristically religious. In this period, the God-World opposition is utilized in the intellectual and cultural spheres. For this world is a pathway towards the other world and salvation, humans need to abstain from the sins they naturally tend to commit and ask for God’s mercy to find eternal salvation. Well-educated in theology, then, through their work the writers of the period communicate to their audience the basic teachings of Christianity and the religious philosophy of the age. Intending to educate the reader with the help of literary characters, these works provide examples concerning the ideal way of living in this world . Within this context, this study explores the concept of “Sin-Redemption-Absolution ” in “Der arme Heinrich’’ by Hartmann von Aue, one of the major poets of Medieval German Literature. Based on an analysis of the processes of sickness and recovery of the main character Heinrich in terms of the concept of “Sin-Redemption-Forgiveness”, the study aims to discover the teachings the poet had possibly in mind as he composed his work.
