Sanat topluma yön veren, toplumun gerçeklerini yansıtan, insanla nesnel gerçeklik arasında estetiksel iletişim kuran önemli bir role sahiptir. Yaşadığımız topraklar yüzyıllardır süregelen gelenekselleşmiş bir atmosfer ve sanat dallarına sahiptir. Anadolu Selçuklu’dan Osmanlı’ya ve günümüze kadar ayakta kalmayı başaran Türk Çini Sanatı bu süreçlerde birçok değişim yaşamış, birçok sanatçı yetiştirmiştir. Bu önemli mirası bugün iyi değerlendiren ve yapıtlarıyla adından söz ettiren birçok sanatçı yer almaktadır. 1959 ve 2000’li yıllar arasında yaşamış olan sanatçı, akademisyen Muammer Çakı da bu önemli insanlar arasındadır ve hala adından söz ettiren, unutulmayan bir sanatçıdır. Muammer Çakı hem geleneksel çini sanatına hem de çağdaş seramik sanatına kattığı eserler, yaratıcılığı ve ortaya koyduğu mesajlar açısından tanınmaktadır. Özellikle geleneksel çini sanatı ile ilgili yaptığı eserler, form ve teknik özellikleriyle tamamen geleneksele dayanmasına rağmen farklı bir estetik ifadeye sahiptir. Bu türden çalışmalar büyük bir birikim ve geleneksel form anlayışında hâkimiyet gerektirir. Çakı’nın çağdaş seramik sanatına kattığı eserlerde ise sanatçı duyarlılığı ile iletilen mesajlar, kültürel birikimleri yansıtan ve aynı zamanda tarihsel kültürümüzün sorunlarını içeren farklı eserler de görmek mümkündür. Sanatçı yaşadığı dönem içerisinde adından sıkça söz ettirebilmiş ve adına açılan Muammer Çakı Seramik Yarışmasıyla ismi hala yaşatılmaktadır. Çok az sanatçı böylesine kısa bir hayat süresinde ortaya koyduğu eserler ve insani değerler açısından yıllarca örnek gösterilmiş ve bir iz bırakabilmiştir.
Art has an important role in directing society, reflecting the reality of society, building aesthetic communication between man and objective reality. The land we live in has a traditional atmosphere and branches of art that have lasted for centuries. Turkish Chinese Art, which managed to stand up from Anadolu Selçuklu to Osmanlı and until today, has experienced many changes in these processes, has trained many artists. This important heritage is presented today by many artists who are well appreciated and mention his name with his works. The artist, who lived between the years 1959 and 2000, the academic Muammer Çakı is among these important people and is still an unforgettable artist who tells his name. Muammer Çakı is known for his works, creativity and messages that he contributes to both traditional Chinese art and contemporary ceramic art. His works, especially in relation to traditional Chinese art, have a different aesthetic expression, despite its form and technical characteristics that are completely traditional. Such studies require a great accumulation of knowledge and domination in the understanding of traditional forms. In the works that Çakı adds to contemporary ceramic art, it is possible to see the messages transmitted with the artist’s sensitivity, different works that reflect cultural accumulations and also include the problems of our historical culture. During the time the artist lived, he could often mention his name and the name of the Muammer Çakı Ceramic Competition was opened. Very few artists have been shown and able to leave a trace for years in terms of the works and human values he has presented in such a short lifetime.
