Abstract:

Türk düşün tarihinde önemli bir entelektüel olan H. Ziya Ülken’in, henüz iletişim eğitiminin ve araştırmalarının önem kazanmadığı bir dönemde bu alanla doğrudan ilgili çalışmaları söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada, Ülken’in bu çalışmaları ile alanla doğrudan ilgisi olmayan sosyoloji, psikoloji ve felsefe alanlarındaki kimi eserleri incelenerek, Türk iletişim tarihine yaptığı katkılar irdelenmektedir. Çalışmada Ülken’in, ülkemizde matbaacılığın, gazeteciliğin ve dergiciliğin gelişmesi konularında -günümüzde değeri daha çok anlaşılacak- önemli katkılar sağladığı görülmektedir
