Knowing the variations in the aortic arch branching pattern has clinical pres- sure in head and neck surgery, vascular surgery, diagnostic angiography and interventional procedures. Variations in aortic arch branches are often coincidental in angiography, computerized tomography, and cadaveric sections because in most cases patients are asymptomatic. Vertebral arteries arise from the superoposterior part of the first part of the subclavian artery. Left and right vertebral arteries differ in length and width. It is quite rare that the left vertebral artery arises directly from the aortic arch instead of the subclavian artery. In this case report, a left anomaly of the left subclavian artery was detected in a 52-year-old female patient, is discussed.
