In the present study which aims to assess the criticisms, opinions and suggestions of 63 teachers of basic medical sciences who teach in the 1st, and 2nd years, questionnaires were evaluated. Since the percentage of participating teachers is 70 %, the reliability of the results obtained are very high. Approximately 80 % of them revealed that, theoretical lessons are required to be presented by interactive education principles. Lecture presentations enriched with advanced technology-based facilities such as power-point, slide machine, overhead projector and so on are preferred. Theoretical examinations are preferred to be performed as written tests by more than half of our teachers (56 %), as oral plus written exams by approximately 30 % , as classical written exams by approximately 20 %. Practical examinations are preferred to be performed as both written and oral exams (41 %), and in a smaller ratio (32 %) as only oral exams. The results of this questionnaire revealed that, positive sides of our education are required to be strengthened and also attractiveness of the lessons should be increased by using various appropriate processes. In addition, during the education, our teachers should do their best to create interaction with their students and also should encourage the students to try to ask questions. It is concluded that, opinions of the teachers of basic medical sciences, obtained from the present study, may be beneficial for improving the teaching presentation and also for improving the teacher/ student interaction.
