Bu çalışma, Şerif Mardin ve Mübeccel Kıray’ın sosyolojik analizlerinin kesişen ve ayrışan noktalarını, toplumsal değişme parametresi, sosyal gruplar ve toplumsal güç odakları arasındaki temel gerilimler ve sosyal yapının bağlantısallığı sorunsalları çerçevesinde tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu tartışmada, sosyologların, temas edilen kuramsal yaklaşımları ve özgün kavramsal çerçeveleri, Türk toplumunun son iki asır içerisinde geçirdiği yapısal değişim ve dönüşümleri sosyolojik boyutlarıyla izlemeye ve analiz etmeye olanak vermektedir. İki sosyoloğun yaklaşımları, toplumsal dinamiklerin hareket ediş süreçlerini ve değişimlerin aşamalı içeriklerini göstermesi bakımından dikkate değerdir. Makro ve yapısal düzeyli dönüşümler tarihsel sosyolojik perspektiflerle analiz edilirken toplumsal dinamikleri harekete geçiren gerilimler gösterilmekte ve yakın tarihimizdeki değişimlerin boyutları gündelik yaşantı ve ritimler açısından tahlil edilmektedir. İki sosyal bilimcinin modernleşme ve çağdaşlaşma periyotlarını analiz ederken kullandıkları kavramsal ve kuramsal çerçeve geniş kapsamlı bir biçimde farklılaşmaktadır. Buna göre Şerif Mardin, çağdaşlaşma sürecimizi makro bir değişken olarak siyaset kurumundaki ve bürokrasideki modenleşmeye ve bu modernleşmenin toplumun simgeler, semboller ve değerler alanındaki radikal dönüşümüne bağlarken Mübeccel Kıray, üretim süreçlerindeki dinamiklere ve ekonomi değişkenine referansla açıklama yapmaktadır. Böylece modernleşme sürecimizin yapı düzeyindeki belirleyenleri farklılaşmakta ve değişik bağlamlara göndermelerle analiz edilmektedir. Çalışma, literatüre katkı açısından ise çoğu zaman salt tarihsel içerik ve aşamalarıyla analiz edilen Türk modernleşmesinin hem tarihsel hem de sosyolojik boyutlarıyla nasıl analiz edilebileceğini göstermektedir.
This study aims to discuss the intersectional and distinctive points of the sociological analyses of Sheriff Mardin and Mübeccel Kıray, the parameters of social change, the fundamental tensions between social groups and social power centers and the linkability of social structure in the framework of the issues. In this discussion, sociologists, the theoretical approaches and original conceptual frameworks that are being discussed, enable them to monitor and analyze the structural changes and transformations of the Turkish society in the last two centuries in their sociological dimensions. The approaches of the two sociologists are worth consideration in terms of showing the movement processes of social dynamics and the gradual content of changes. The macro and structural transformations are analyzed with historical sociological perspectives; the tensions that move the social dynamics are shown and the dimensions of the changes in our recent history are assessed in terms of daily life and rhythms. The conceptual and theoretical framework they use to analyze the periods of modernization and modernization of the two social scientists is widely different. According to this, Sheriff Mardin connects our process of modernization as a macro variable to modernization in the political institution and in the bureaucracy and to the radical transformation of this modernization in the field of social symbols, symbols and values; Mubeccel Kray makes a reference to the dynamics in the production processes and the economic variable. Thus, the determinants at the structure level of our modernization process are differentiated and analyzed by sending them to different contexts. The study, in terms of contribution to literature, often shows how the modernization of Turkey, which is often analyzed by its purely historical content and stages, can be analyzed in both historical and sociological dimensions.

Thus, the structural determinants of our modernization process are differentiated and analyzed with references to different contexts. In terms of contribution to literature, the study shows how Turkish modernization, which is often analyzed solely by its historical content and stages, can be analyzed both in its historical and sociological dimensions.
