Abstract:

General comparison criteria used in the study; it is a teacher training system. Together with Turkey in the international TIMSS and PISA exam study According to the results of successful countries (Great Britain, Japan, Norway, Finland, Singapore and Russia) teacher training system were investigated. The study was carried out in accordance with the holistic multi-case study design, one of the qualitative research designs. Document analysis, one of the qualitative data collection methods, was used to obtain the data, and the data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. In accordance with data obtained from the study Turkey, Britain, Japan, Norway, Finland, Russia, Singapore, and general data which can be analyzed and compared in various sizes for teacher training system it has been demonstrated similarities and differences. When the education systems of the countries with high mathematics success in international exams are examined, it is seen that the value given to teachers is in the first place. In addition, it has been concluded that most of these countries include physical, academic and skill-based interviews in addition to the central exam in teacher selection. In teacher training programs, some changes can be made in this direction by examining the teacher training systems of successful countries. In this context, emphasis can be placed on practice in the teacher training system. Certain standards can be set for the teaching profession. Encouraging practices can be made to support teachers' self-development.
