Türkiye’de 1990’li yılardan itibaren yaşlı nüfus hızla artmaktadır. Ülkemizde nüfusun yaşlanması yaşlıları diğer yaş gruplarına kıyasla daha fazla etkilemektedir. Yaşlıların sosyal konumlarındaki değişime dikkat çekmektedir. Bu değişim yaşlıların aile ilişkileri, sosyal etkileşimleri ve ekonomik durumlarına kadar birçok alanda kendini göstermektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de nüfusun yaşlanmasının yaşlıların toplumsal görünümlerine nasıl yansıdığını ortaya çıkarmak hedeflenmektedir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ülkemizdeki bu demografik dönüşümün yaşlıların cinsiyet dağılımını, yaşam biçimlerini, sağlık durumlarını nasıl etkilediği incelenmektedir. Yöntem olarak mevcut alan yazınındaki kaynaklar taranmış ve istatistiksel verileri içeren ikincil kaynaklar incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda Türkiye’de kadın yaşlıların oranının erkeklerden fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dünyadaki genel eğilime uyan biçimde ülkemizde de yalnız yaşayan yaşlıların sayısı artmaktadır. Yaşlıların yaşam süreleri uzaması Türkiye’de ileri yaşlı dönemindekilerin oranını arttırmaktadır. Bu durum ülkemizde bağımlı yaşlıların sayısını artırmaktadır. Ülkemizde yaşam sürelerinin artması kronik sağlık sorunlarını yoğunlaştırmaktadır. Yaşlı bakımında ailenin yanında kamu ve özel sektöre daha fazla rol düşmektedir. Bunlarla birlikte Türkiye’de yaşlı yoksulluğu giderek daha fazla görünür olduğu söylenebilir.

Abstract:

Since the 1990s, the population in Turkey has grown rapidly. The ageing population in our country affects older people more than other age groups. The changes in the social position of the elderly. This change manifests itself in many areas, including the family relations, social interactions and economic conditions of the elderly. This study aims to reveal how the ageing population in Turkey reflects the social appearance of the elderly. According to this goal, this demographic transformation in our country is studied how it affects the gender distribution of the elderly, their way of life, their health. As a method, the sources in the existing field text have been scanned and the secondary sources containing statistical data have been studied. This study found that the proportion of older women in Turkey is higher than the proportion of men. The number of people living alone in our country is increasing. The extension of the life of the elderly in Turkey increases the proportion of the elderly in advanced periods. This increases the number of dependent people in our country. The increase in life expectancy in our country focuses on chronic health problems. In the family, the public and private sector have a greater role. It can be said that the ageing poverty in Turkey is increasingly visible.

The elderly population is rapidly increasing in Turkey since the 1990s. The aging of the population in our country affects the elderly more than the other age groups. The change in social positions of the elderly is remarkable. This change manifests itself in many areas of the elderly, including family relationships, social interactions and economic situations. This study aims to reveal how the social outlook of the elderly population aging is reflected in Turkey. For this purpose, this demographic change in our country is concerned with the gender distribution of the elderly, their lifestyles and how they affect their health status. In this study literature review has been used as a method. Secondary sources including statistical data were examined. The result of this study is that elderly women in Turkey is greater than the proportion of elderly men. The number of elderly living alone in Turkey is increasing in accordance with the general tendency in the world. The prolongation of the life span of the elderly increases the proportion of the advanced age in Turkey. This situation increases the number of dependent older people in Turkey. The increase in life expectancy in our country intensifies chronic health problems. In elderly care, there is more role in public and market as well as family. Along with these, it said that elderly poverty is increasingly more visible in Turkey
