Abstract:

Analysis of readability of information related to Dentist Disease in the Internet Environment Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the Turkish texts related to Dentist Disease in the Internet Environment in terms of readability. Tools and Methods: Google search engine has been searched using the keywords "Dysfunction". The search result included the first 50 pages of the Turkish text on patient information. The text resources were recorded to be a university hospital, a private health institution, a periodontology specialist, a dentist, a oral dental health center and a professional organization. The patient’s information text was assessed according to the Firefighting Readability Index. Results: 48 of the first 50 sites that came out in the search results met the inclusion criteria. When the texts were categorized according to their sources; they were made up of private health institutions (%79.17) , university hospitals (8.33), periodontology specialist (4.17), dentist (4.17), oral dental health center (2.08) and professional organization (2.08). 83.34% of the evaluated texts had difficulty reading at an average level. Result: According to the results of this study, the patient information texts found on the Turkish websites related to "Diabetes Disease" have a medium level of difficulty reading. These texts on their websites are sufficient in terms of content, but if they are not understood by the patients, they will not see the targeted effects on the readers. Therefore, it will be useful to be evaluated by readability tools so that patient training and information texts can be read more easily before publication.
