Abstract:

Introduction and Target: Today, a significant proportion of children with leukemia with factors such as improving the conditions in patient care, advanced laboratory capabilities and better determining the risk classification reaches adult age, but two in three patients have long-term side effects related to cancer treatment. This study aims to study the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on thyroid functions in cases that have been given and therapy resulted in healing and at least two years after the end of the treatment. Methods and Requirements: acute lymphoblastic leucemia diagnosed, diagnosed at the moment under 18 years of age, treated according to the protocols of acute lymphoblastic leucemia treatment, not transplanted bone marrow, not inexistent, with a follow-up period of at least 2 years after treatment included. The investigations and demographic characteristics of the incidents were recorded backward from the files and the electronic recording system. The study included 45 patients aged 5-18 years. Fourteen cases were applied radiotherapy in addition to chemotherapy, all of which were given preventive cranio radiotherapy. 6 of the cases were 12 Gy, 8 were 18 Gy. In the 2' of the 45 phenomena (4.4%) the TSH values were between 5.5-10 μU / L. No patient's TSH was above >10 μU / L. The sT4 levels of all patients were normal. In comparison with thyroid functions, patients who receive and do not receive cornea radiation therapy have no statistically significant differences between the groups. INTRODUCTION AND RESULTAT: In the study we have done chemotherapy and preventive doses of corneal radiotherapy and healing in patients with late side effects in terms of troidal functions have not been detected.
