Onjective: This study was conducted to analyze the association between nurses’ perspectives of innovation and their individual innovativeness states. Method: This descriptive study was conducted on nurses working in a State Hospital between the dates January 12 and March 12, 2018. The universe of the study consisted of 364 nurses working in the hospital, while the sample consisted of 332 nurses who accepted to participate in the study. A Questionnaire Form and Individual Innovativeness Scale were used in the collection of data. Before the starting the study, a written permission was taken from provincial directorate of health, while oral consents were taken from the nurses who participated in the study. Results: It was found that 44.3% of the nurses were informed about innovation, 91% thought innovation was necessary in nursing care, 19% stated they made an attempt about innovation in nursing care, 12.7% made an attempt to develop a new product in nursing care and 74.4% wanted to develop a product in nursing care. 82.8% of the nurses stated that they needed to develop a new product while giving nursing care in their units, 73.5% stated that they were not supported by colleagues while 83.7% stated that they were not supported by the institution they worked in and 80.7% stated that they wanted to make an attempt on innovation if they had sufficient support. It was determined that there is a statistically significant difference between the nurses' knowledge about innovation, thinking that innovation is necessary, taking an initiative related to innovation, wanting to develop a new product, needing to develop a new product, and willing to take an initiative if they are supported, and their individual innovation scale score averages (p <0.05). Conclusion: In the study, most of the nurses stated that they do not have knowledge about innovation, think it is necessary, need to develop a new product, want to develop a new product, do not receive sufficient support from their colleagues and the institution, and very few of them have attempted to develop a new product. In line with these results; it is recommended that to include an innovation course in the undergraduate education of nurses, to inform working nurses about innovation through in-service training, and to increase their motivation by being supported by the managers of the institutions they work with.
