Abstract:

Appreciated beliefs that are approved by the society because they create the spirit of unity in the social life of a person, who is a social being, and ensure the continuation of this unity, are called value. The aim of this research is to examine the 15 fairy tale books prepared for preschool students within the scope of the "Anatolian Tales Project" in terms of the values they contain. It is considered important to examine the values contained in the fairy tales read to children in schools. In accordance with the research, document analysis technique has been used in the study. It is concluded that each tale in the Preschool Education Set contains at least one value. Values of giving importance to independence, industriousness, friendship, honesty, tolerance, frugality, hospitality, moderation, patience, respect, love and benevolence have been determined in the tales. In addition, while the value of benevolence in fairy tales has been determined as the most processed value; it has been concluded that the values of giving importance to independence, industriousness, tolerance, frugality, moderation, patience are the values that are the least processed by mentioning them only in one book.
