Abstract:

The leading representative of French romantic poetry Alfred de Vigny's "La Mort du Loup" "The Death of the Curtain" is one of the first examples of both the romantic era and Vigny's poetic work. The flexibility of the poetry language, the sharpness of the images used, the life lesson of the poetry and the philosophical depth have extended the boundaries of this romantic poetry. It is both a bright example of romanticism, as well as philosophical poetry examples. The purpose of this study is to offer the solution of the poem, after evaluating Alfred de Vigny’s poem from the point of view of the romantic flow. We tried to make a translation of this poem that has not been translated to Turkey before - without too ambitious - focusing on the translation of the meaning of this article on the occasion. In this framework, first of all, the Romantic Stream and after the basic information of the Alfred de Vigny poem was given, the historical and written context of the poem was mentioned. With the poem containing a hunting story, both romantic aesthetics and the logic of the story were observed. The basic objective is based on an analysis of the basic meaningful and reflective structure of the poem. After the solution, the written connection between Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Alfred de Vigny was tried to evaluate. The goal is to be able to evaluate the relationship that Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, who uses the poem of Vigny in the article on the topic "Women's Wolf and Dogs" with this image in the text level, and to illustrate the intertext horizon established in the field of thought and literature between the two poets through this metafor.

Alfred de Vigny's "La Mort du loup" (1938) is a leading representative of French romantic poetry. "The Death of the Wolf" is one of the first poems that comes to mind when considering both the romantic period and Vigny's poetic work. This study presents Alfred de Vigny's poem in terms of the romantic trends of the time and attempts to analyze it. After giving basic information on Romanticism and Vigny’s poetry, we describe the historical and literary context in which he worked. As the poem deals with a hunting story, observations were made both in terms of romantic aesthetics and narrative logic. For the purposes of writing this article we tried to translate this poem – without being too ambitious - , as it had not yet been translated into Turkish. In so doing, we were able to focus on the transfer of meaning The main objective is based on an analysis that addresses the basic semantic and thematic structure of poetry. In addition, the study gives an evaluation of the writing bond between Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Alfred de Vigny. As Yahya Kemal used the wolf metaphor in reference to Vigny's poem in his article on "The Female Wolf and The Cubs", the relationship with this image in the text as well as the intertext horizon between the two poets will be treated.
