Abstract:

With the advanced technology, the increase in the measurement and data storage capabilities, the functionality of the internet and the widespread use of social media, the volume of data sets has increased significantly, and the big data concept has become an important agenda subject. Today, the proper analysis and comprehensible summary of the information contained in big data has become an important objective for decision makers and planners in all sectors. The method that can be used for the purpose of summarizing and presenting big data findings is visualization. This has been the motivation for the development of various visualization tools and software programs in recent years. In this study, user-friendly infographics that can be used in the preference of housing, were produced from the advertising information in the large data structure related to the housing industry for Istanbul. The Tableau Reader program is designed to make it easy for users to compare and make choices with infographics in the map graphic format. Furthermore, through the R program, it has been possible to compare the buildings based on the year of construction and infographics in the form of animated graphics created according to the various criteria taken into account when purchasing housing, such as room-salon number, price, net area. The benefit from the aforementioned infographics increases depending on the growth of the amount of data.
