ANTİK OLİMPİYATLARDAN GÜNÜMÜZE SPOR VE DİNİ RİTÜELLER

Abstract:

Bu çalışmada amaç Antik Olimpiyatlardan günümüze spor ve dini ritüeller ilişkisinin araştırılmasıdır.  Literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Sportif faaliyetler ve dini uygulamalar antik yunandaki olimpiyatlara dayandırılır. Dinler ve sporun birbirine benzer amaçları vardır. Genel ortak nokta insanların mükemmelliğe ermesi, mutluluk ve huzur içinde yaşamaları üzerinedir. Dinlerin ibadet şekli içerisindeki bazı uygulamaları sporlarda uygulamalar olarak düşünülebilir. Batı literatürüne göre sportif faaliyetlerde dinin etkisi Milattan önceki 776 yılı antik olimpiyat oyunlarında görülmüştür. Büyük dinler veya İlahi dinlerin peygamberlerinin de spor yaptığı ve sporu teşvik ettiği bilinen bir gerçektir.Sonuç olarak Antik Yunanda sportif faaliyetler ve oyunların ortaya çıkışında dinlerin etkisi olmuştur.  Din ve sporun kullandığı ritüellerden, sembollere ve putlara saygıdan insan aklını aşan deneyimlere kadar birçok açıdan yapısal ve psikolojik olarak benzerlik görülür. Dinlerin amaçlarından bir olan Tanrıya yaklaşma ve onu memnun etme hareket ve davranışları antik oyunlardan itibaren sportif faaliyetlerde görüldüğü gibi günümüz sporcuları tarafından da yapıldığı bilinmektedir. Antik dönemlerdeki bazı sporcular başarılarından dolayı Tanrı rolünde mitolojilere yansımış olabilir.  Bilinen bir gerçek İnsanların tarih boyunca genellikle bir üst güce inandıkları ve onu memnun etmek, ona yaklaşmak için çapa içerisinde olduklarıdır. İlahi dinlerin peygamberlerinin sporu teşvik etmesi sporun dinden etkilendiği şeklinde yorumlanabilir. Spor alanında başarı için “Bir şeye inan. Her şeyi feda etmek anlamına gelse bile” sözünü unutmamak gerekir.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between sports and religious rituals from the ancient Olympics to the present day.  Literature is scaned. Sports activities and religious practices are based on the Olympics in ancient Greece. Sports and audition have similar objectives. The general common point is that people get to perfection, live in happiness and peace. Some practices in the form of worship of religions can be considered as practices in sports. According to Western literature, the influence of religion on sports activities was seen in the Olympic Games in 776 years before Milatan. It is a known fact that the great religions or the prophets of the divine religions also do sports and encourage sports. As a result, the influence of religions has been in the emergence of sports activities and games in ancient Greece.  From the rituals and sports used, from the respect for symbols and gods to the experiences that exceed the human mind, structural and psychological similarities are seen in many ways. It is known that one of the objectives of the religions is the approach to God and the movements and behaviors to satisfy him, as seen in sports activities from ancient games, are also done by today’s athletes. Some athletes in ancient times may have reflected mythologies in the role of God due to their successes.  A well-known reality is that people throughout history often believe in a supreme power and are within the scope to satisfy it, to approach it. The divine religions can be interpreted in the form that the prophets encourage sport as the sport is influenced by the religion. For success in the field of sport, believe in something. Even if it means to sacrifice everything, you should not forget the word.

According to the Western literature, the effect of religion in sports activities was seen in the ancient Olympic games of 776 BC. It is a known fact that prophets of great religions or divine religions also practiced and encouraged sports.As a result, religions influenced the emergence of sports activities and games in Ancient Greece. There are structural and psychological similarities in many aspects, from the rituals used by religion and sports to the respect for symbols and idols, to experiences that transcend the human mind. It is known that the movements and behaviors of approaching God and pleasing him, which is one of the purposes of religions, are performed by today's athletes as well as in sports activities since ancient games. Some athletes in ancient times may have been reflected in mythologies in the role of God because of their success. It is a known fact that people throughout history generally believed in a higher power and were anchored in order to please and approach it. The fact that the prophets of divine religions encouraged sports can be interpreted as the influence of sports on religion. For success in the field of sports “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
