In the research, it is aimed to determine the research tendencies of the master's and doctoral theses, which include cognitive and metacognitive strategies related to the field of Turkish education, prepared between 2000-2022. In this study, qualitative research method was used. The data source of the research was accessed from the Higher Education Council Thesis Center. In the data collection process, the document analysis method was used. As a result of the research, it was determined that 48 postgraduate theses on the subject were prepared in 31 different universities in Turkey between the years 2000-2022 (July). 29 of these theses were prepared at the master's level and 19 at the doctoral level. In addition, the most postgraduate theses were completed in 2018-2019. In the postgraduate theses on cognitive and metacognitive strategies related to the field of Turkish education, diversity has been observed in terms of subject. In the theses in the data source, topics related to the field of reading learning were preferred. Subjects related to listening and writing learning are also frequently covered in theses. The least covered topics in the theses in the data source are speaking skills, affective elements, curriculum and textbooks. Quantitative research models were mostly used in postgraduate theses on cognitive and metacognitive strategies in the field of Turkish education. Accordingly, metacognitive scales and achievement test were preferred more in the data collection process. In theses in which qualitative research method was used, awareness scales and interview forms were mostly used. In the theses on the subject, mostly secondary school students were chosen as the sample. It was concluded that this was followed by university and primary school students
