Abstract The aim of this research is to examine the effect of emotional labor and organizational cynicism behaviors exhibited by hotel employees on their perceptions of work alienation. The universe of the research consists of employees of four and five-star hotels operating in Kuşadası. Questionnaire technique was used as data collection tool. In the research, a face-to-face survey was conducted with 500 hotel employees using the convenience sampling method, and 448 of them were used for the research. In the evaluation of the data, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, T-Test, One Way Anova, Pearson Correlation, Multiple and Simple Regression analysis were used. As a result of the research, it has been seen that only the sincere behavior dimension of emotional labor has a low negative and significant effect on work alienation, and as the level of sincere behavior of the employees increases, the level of work alienation decreases. When the effect of organizational cynicism on work alienation is examined, it is seen that organizational cynicism and its sub-dimensions, cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions, have a moderately positive and significant effect on work alienation, and as the organizational cynicism levels of hotel employees increase, their level of work alienation also increases.
