Öğretmenlerin Üstün Yetenekli Bireylerin Eğitimlerine Yönelik Tutumlarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract:

Yapılan bu çalışmanın amacı; öğretmenlerin bazı değişkenlere göre (cinsiyet, uzmanlık deneyimi, branş, okul türü, üstün yetenekli bireylere yönelik eğitim alma durumu) üstün yetenekli bireylerin eğitimlerine yönelik tutumlarının değerlendirmesidir. Çalışma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli ile tasarlanmıştır. Çalışmaya 92 öğretmen katılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Üstün Yetenekliler Eğitimine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Bu ölçek Gagne ve Nedau (1985) tarafından geliştirilmiş, Türkçe’ye uyarlama çalışması Tortop (2014) tarafından yapılmıştır. Ölçek, “Üstün Yeteneklilerin İhtiyaçları ve Destek” (ÜYİD), “Üstün Yeteneklilerin Özel Hizmetlerine Karşı Olma” (ÜYÖHKO) ve “Özel Yetenek Sınıfları Oluşturma” (ÖYSO) alt boyutları ile toplam test puanından oluşmaktadır. Ölçeğin uygulanmadan önce Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi ve Cronbach Alfa güvenirlik katsayısı hesaplamaları yapılmış ve ölçeğin çalışma grubuna uygulanabilirliği ortaya konulmuştur. Yapılan Bayezyan t testi sonucunda özellikle öğretmenlerin üstün yetenekli bireylere yönelik eğitim alıp almama durumlarına göre H1 kipotezini kabul etmeye yönelik güçlü kanıtlar sunulmuştur. Üstün yetenekli bireylere yönelik eğitim alanların ÜYİD alt boyutuna göre yüksek alma oranı 5 kat, ÜYÖHKO alt boyutuna göre 200 kat, toplam test puanına göre ise 77 kat daha fazladır. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar üstün yetenekli bireyler ile ilgili öğretmenlerde farkındalık oluşturmak için bu yönde eğitim vermenin önemini vurgulamaktadır.

The purpose of the study is to examine teachers’ attitudes towards the education of talented individuals according to sex, experience, branch, school type, training for talented individuals. The study was designed with quantitative research methods using relative survey method. 92 teachers participated in the study. "Attitude Scale towards Gifted Education" was used as data collection instrument. This scale was developed by Gagne and Nedau (1985) and adapted into Turkish culture by Tortop (2014). The scale consists of the three subscales of "Needs and Support of the Talented" (NST), "Opposed to Special Services of the Talented" (OSST), "Creating Special Ability Classes" (CSAC) and total test scores. Confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha reliability were calculated before the scale was applied and it seems that the scale is appropriate for the participants. According to the Bayezyanian t test result, there is strong evidence to accept the H1 hypothesis. Those who are trained for gifted individuals have more than 5 times the NST subscales, 200 times the OSST subscales and 77 times the total scores than those who are not trained for gifted individuals. According to these results it is important to educate teachers about gifted individuals to create awareness.
