Abstract:

Postmodernism has continued to increase its effects in the fields of philosophy and literature from the first day of its appearance till today. Postmodernists radically refuse rational reality, monopolistic culture and language especially in the center of modernist criticism. Accordingly, they develop a new multi-layered understanding of language that is based on reception aesthetics and theoretically language-centered but far from being original. Because, in today's world where the cultural boundaries are universalized by means of mass media such as social media, television, internet, a hybridization, and enrichment in language and culture can be seen parallel to the pluralistic concept defended by postmodernist thinkers. This situation creates a multilingual and culturally intertwined structure by reflecting in postmodern literary works in a short time. This study aimed at explaining and exemplifying the cultural, social and literary direction of the multicultural and multilingual understanding which became evident with the postmodern philosophy through the Fındık Sekiz. The pluralistic way of thought, which postmodernists put forward against to common sense of value and language of the globalizing world, is discussed in practical theory. Due to the attitude of refusing to any kind of classification and sorting that postmodernist literature theory has, sometimes the writer sometimes reader and sometimes the text-oriented analyses are applied. The significant aspects of postmodernist attitude have been emphasized in the concept of language-culture understanding through the references to Fındık Sekiz. In the light of the findings obtained, it is found that the use of multiculturalism and plurilingual is applied to the work substantially appropriate to postmodernist understanding. Thereby, the way and the extent to which postmodernism has taken place in terms of language-culture relation in Turkish society and literature has been explained through the Fındık Sekiz.
