The main principles of, spatial structure, alteration, similarities and cultural continuity of the traditional houses and today’s villas with different types and sizes in the city of Adana, have been specified with a space syntax analysis. In the study which aimed to search for answers to these questions, it was possible to exteriorize the spatial patterns and the social meaning and knowledge related to the space in the housing designs that were made in different periods with the help of scientific, numerical and graphic based techniques in a tangible and systematic manner. The settlement and architectural features of traditional Adana housing and today's villas have been identified and analyzed. As a result of the measurements made, plan and facade typologies of houses were formed with the street texture, facade and plan features data obtained by being revealed with drawings and photographs. A series of studies conducted in the academic environment and in practice revealed that the techniques supported by the so-called theory has provided significant contributions for reading, understanding and evaluating an abstract phenomenon, such as space, and to develop design proposals in this direction to research the bases of spatial formations in designs. In the notice, it is aimed to analyze and question the relations between the architectural objects, compositional characteristics and spatial configuration with the space syntax of old Adana houses and modern housing designs of Adana villas. The mentioned analyzes and the resulting data are valuable in the sense of being able to reveal the fictional information behind the appeared in the residential designs of Adana, to be able to make the space understood better and talkable about.
