Increase their production capacity due to the volume of employment in the development process of the country is very important. Left out of a part of the labor factor in the recruitment process are facing the problem of unemployment is a significant problem for the economy. UN, ILO and similar institutions; It is defined as young people between the ages of 15-24 .The youth unemployment rate has reached significant proportions in many countries. Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), “Youth, Skills and Employability” report , members of an important part of young people in the country shows that faced with the problem of unemployment. 31.3 % of young people between the ages of 15-29 in Turkey, according to the OECD report what is taking place in the employment market nor studying nor doing an internship. This rate was realized as 15.5% of the OECD average. Investigation of youth unemployment due to increase of the share of unemployed young people is of particular importance. In the study, the OECD and the total unemployment since 2000 and the change of the exchange rate of youth unemployment in Turkey will be discussed. First, employment - unemployment concepts examined in the study will attempt to demonstrate the dimensions of youth unemployment. It will then be presented recommendations for the prevention of youth unemployment.
