The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between work related need satisfaction and subjective well-being of academics in the workplace. The participants of this study are 215 (95 female/120 male) academics from various Turkish universities. The data collection tools used in the study are Work Related Need Satisfaction Scale, The Satisfaction with Life Scale and Positive-Negative Affect Scale. In accordance with the aim of the study, Pearson moments product correlation and multiple regression analysis were used. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, it has been determined that Work-Related Basic Need Satisfaction sub-dimensions explain subjective well-being at a statistically significant level (R2=0.48, F=65.44, p<.001). According to these results, the relevant variables explain 48% of the total variance in subjective well-being
