Foucault, iktidarı ve iktidar ilişkilerini toplumsal yapının belirlendiği önemli düzenlemeler olarak görmektedir. O’na göre iktidar yalnızca devlet ve halklar arasında değil daha özelde bireyler üzerinde etkili olan bir yapıya sahiptir. İktidarın alanını ikili ilişkilere kadar daraltan hatta bireyin kendi bedeninde dahi arayabileceği bir güç olarak değerlendiren Foucault, bu gücün bilgiyle devamlı kılınabileceğini ifade etmektedir. Günümüzde teknolojik ilerlemenin bir sonucu olarak ise bu bilgilerin kullanım alanlarını sorgulamanın önemli bir yerde durduğunu savunmaktadır. Bilim ve teknoloji gibi önemli gelişmeler geçmişten günümüze iktidarı elinde bulunduranlar tarafından yerini sabitleştirmeye yarayan araçlar olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu dolayımda da ileri teknolojinin toplumlar ve bireyler üzerindeki etkilerini sorgulayan Black Mirror televizyon serisi, temelde teknolojinin topluma kazandırmış olduğu kolaylıkların sonuçları üzerine yeniden düşünülmesini sağlayan önemli bir yapımdır. Bu çalışmada özellikle teknolojinin eriştiği gelişme üzerinden iktidar alanlarını irdeleyen ‘Arkangel’ adlı bölüm, Foucault’nun özne, bilgi, gözetleme, denetleme ve disipline etme kavramları üzerinden incelenecektir. Ancak öncesinde Foucault’nun iktidar olgusu kuramsal bağlamda ele alınacak olup ele alınan bilgiler doğrultusunda ilgili bölüm analiz edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
Foucault sees the power and power relations as important arrangements in which the social structure is determined. He believes that power has a structure that has an influence on individuals, not just between the state and the peoples. Foucault, who considers the power as a power that can even be sought by the individual in his own body, that the power can be made continuous with knowledge. Today, as a result of technological advances, he claims that the use of this information stands in an important place in question. Important developments such as science and technology have been regarded as tools for fixing their place by those who have power from the past to the present. The Black Mirror TV series, which also questiones the effects of advanced technology on societies and individuals, is an important production that essentially makes it possible to reflect on the consequences of the facilities that technology has provided to society. In this study, the "Arkangel" section, which focuses on the fields of power, especially through the development of technology, will be studied through Foucault's concepts of essence, knowledge, monitoring, control and discipline. But earlier, Foucault's power phenomenon will be discussed in theoretical context and the relevant section will be tried to be analyzed according to the information discussed.

Today, as a result of technological progress, it is argued that questioning the usage areas of this information is in an important place. Significant development such as science and technology have also been considered as tools to stabilize the position of those in power from the past to the present. In this context, the Black Mirror television series, which questions the effects of advanced technology on societies and individuals, is an important production that provides a rethinking of the results of the conveniences that technology has brought to society. In this study, the episode ’Arkangel’, which particularly examines the areas of power through the development of technology, will be examined through the concepts of Foucault's subjectivity, knowledge, surveillance, supervisionand discipline. First, Foucault's concept of powerwill be discussed in the theoretical context and the relevant episode will be analyzed in accordance with the information discussed.
