Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the possible side effects of the maximum dose and time combined use of imidocarbon, buparvaquon and oxithracycline used against blood parasites in sheep. In the study, 10 cows were applied imidocarbus (2.4 mg/kg), buparvaquon (2.5 mg/kg) and oxythracycline (20 mg/kg) two times in a 3 day interval in the muscle. Blood samples were taken before (0 controls) and after 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 days. Malondialdehyd, 8-hydroxy-2-deoxiguanosine, troponin I and creatine kinaz-MB isenzyme levels were determined in the ELISA reader, while the heart, liver and kidney function parameters were measured in the autoanalyzer. The blood gases and hemogram parameters were also measured. Results: After application, oxidative stress is not determined in sheep (p>0. 05), laktate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, blood urine nitrogen and glucose levels increased (p<0.05). Alkaline phosphatease, aqua and sodium levels decline (p<0.05), while statistical fluctuations in hemoglobin, bikarbonate, potassium, ionized calcium and chlorine levels (p<0.05) were observed. Recommendation: The combined application of imidocarbon, buparvaquon and oxytocycline to sheep may not cause severe oxidative stress, cardiotoxicity and nefotoxicity, but this combination may affect the function of the liver and blood gases and hemogram parameters. However, patients should be cautious when using this combination.
