Abstract:

The teaching profession will be able to meet the individual and social expectations to the desired extent and will be able to fulfill the profession with pleasure and will, and will also contribute to increasing the reputation for the profession. In this sense, the development of the attitude towards the teaching profession is important to obtain the expected contribution from the teachers and to the professional happiness of the teachers. The purpose of this research is to determine whether class teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession and whether their attitudes are differentiated or not depending on gender, education level, class class level and professional age variables. The universe of the research carried out for this purpose is 1139 class teachers employed in the official schools in the province of Chorum during the 2021 2022 academic year. The sample is 233 class teachers identified using the appropriate sample method. The study used the "Teacher's Attitude Measurement to the Teaching Profession" as a data collection tool. In the analysis of the research data, the t-test and the ANOVA test were used, and the post-host test was applied to reveal the difference between the groups that saw differentiation. With the analysis of the research data, the conclusion was that class teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession were very high, and that the skill was not seen according to the level of education of the teachers and professors, while the skill was not seen according to the level of class teachers were taught. It is also found that in the lower dimension of "valuation", in the lower dimension of "professional extinction", in the lower dimension of "professional development openness" and in the entire scale there is no differentiation depending on gender, while in the lower dimension of "non-interest" there is differentiation depending on gender.
