Abstract:

The aim of this research is to adapt the Feelings About School (FAS) Measure which assess the perceptions of preschool students about their academic skills, their attitudes and feelings towards the school and the teacher into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties in Turkish Culture. The study group of the research consists of 312 pre-school students. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed within the scope of the validity study of the scale; Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated within the scope of reliability study. As a result of the findings obtained from the research, a structure with three factors emerged, different from the original scale. As a result of the CFA, acceptable goodness of fit values were obtained. The results of the study show that the Turkish forms of the scales are valid and reliable measurement tools and can be used in scientific studies.
