Abstract:

Today, the concept of “Entrepreneurial and Innovative University” is frequently encountered. Innovativeness is becoming increasingly important for regions, including universities, as it is in all areas of life. In this context, entrepreneurial and innovative university-based initiatives are an important tool in knowledge and technology transfer and in solving social problems. For this reason, universities in our country; It is very important to transform it into innovative, designer, transparent and quality universities and to reach the place it deserves in international competition. The Turkey entrepreneur and innovative university index has been published annually by TUBITAK since 2012, and with the help of this, universities can work together with both their scientific activities, industry and other collaborations, it is possible for universities to make initiatives as innovation and entrepreneurs, to be successful and to work towards newer goals. In this study, entrepreneurship and innovativeness performances of universities were calculated using the PROMETHEE GAIA method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods, using the entrepreneur and innovative university index 2021 data. According to the information obtained as a result of the analysis; the most successful ones in the performance evaluation of alternative universities are respectively; Middle East Technical, Sabanci, Istanbul Technical, Bilkent and Yildiz Technical universities. In addition, a comparison of the top ranked universities and Fırat University, one of the regional universities, was also made in the study and necessary suggestions were developed to improve the identified deficiencies.
