Abstract:

For the Parliamentary Party (ANAP), which won the first general elections held after the 12th September 1980 military intervention, the Parliamentary Intermediate Elections of 28th September 1986 had a trustworthy character. The establishment of parties with similar opinions with different names in the locations of the closed and the coverage of the party’s support by the banned politicians led to the ANAP’s interference in the electoral legislation before the interim elections. Thus, in order to reduce the influence of the parties that may be rival to him, he has legalized a change that allows the parties that do not carry the conditions for entering the elections. But the Opposition's Right Road Party (DYP) has developed its own strategy against this maneuver of the power and through the temporary and ordinary parties it supports, has tried to capture the opportunity to make additional propaganda with the Turkish Radio and Television Institution. One of these parties, the Great Anadolu Party, in the propaganda process, primarily criticized Özal and his party frequently, indirectly served the DYP. After all, ANAP has not achieved the outcome expected from this intervention to democracy.
