Abstract:

This research was conducted to identify whether the Montessori approach-based STEM activities have an impact on the development of pre-school teaching candidates; creative skills. Karma method is used in research. The research sample was formed by 50 teachers candidates who studied in the Pre-School Teaching Department of the Faculty of Education in the 2017-2018 educational year. In the study, a single-group pre-test estest scheme was created to determine the change in the creative skills of the teacher candidates. The analysis of the quantitative data obtained during the study is done by statistical methods and the analysis of the quality data is done by content analysis. In obtaining quantum data in the research, “How creative are you?” The scale has been used as a "Semi-configured interview form". Qualitative data prepared in a supporting quality of quantum data consists of an open-end semi-configured conversation form. For 14 weeks, the candidates were given STEM training based on the Montessori approach. The findings obtained from the research have found that there is a significant difference between the predest and estest points of creativity skills and that there is a quantitative support in the results obtained from the quality data.
