TRT 2 ekranlarında 2019 yılında yayınlanmaya başlayan “Tarihin Ruhu” belgeseli tarih öğretimi açısından önemli bir materyal olarak değerlendirilebilir. Belgesel yakın tarihimizin önemli olaylarına ve şahıslarına ışık tutması açısından değerli görüntüler içermektedir. Bu bağlamda tarih öğretiminde birincil kaynak olarak kullanabileceğimiz bu türden arşiv filmleri, öğrencinin zihninde geçmişe olan bilinmezliği ve soyutluğu, somutlaştıracak, ilgi ve merak uyandıracaktır. Şimdiye dek 52 bölümü yayınlanmış olan belgeselin özellikle Tarih, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük derslerinde pek çok konunun aktarımında faydalı olacağı öngörülmektedir. Yerli ve yabancı arşiv kaynakları kullanılarak hazırlanan Tarihin Ruhu belgeseli, yalnızca arşiv filmlerini sunmakla kalmamış, bir tarihçi titizliği ile görüntülerin nasıl analiz edilebileceğini, görsel kaynağa ne tür sorular sorulması gerektiğini de izleyicisine aktarmaktadır. Belgeselde dönemin görüntülerinin yanı sıra fotoğraf ve gazete gibi birinci elden kaynaklarından yararlanılmıştır. Edinilen bilgiler mukayeseli bir şekilde incelenerek izleyiciye sunulmaktadır. Tarihin Ruhu belgeseli tarih öğretimi açısından derslerde kullanılması gereken önemli bir materyaldir.

The documentary named as The Spirit of History which is started running in 2009 in channel TRT 2 is thought to be an important material in teaching of history. This documentary contains very important images it sheds light on important events and people of our recent history. In this context this kind of archive films can be used as a primary source in teaching of history and arise curiosity and interest of students, because it can concretize the abstractness and unknown of their mind. It is predicted that this documentary which is broadcasted 52 episodes on the channel is very important in teaching of History and Republic of Turkey Revolution History and Kemalism. The documentary of the spirit of history is not only present an archive films but also conveys to the audience how to analyse the images with the meticulousness of historian. This documentary is prepared by using domestic and foreign archive source. The primary source as newspaper and photos of that period are used in documentary obtained information presents to the audiences as comparatively. The Spirit of History is an important material to use in history lessons.
