With the COVID-19 virus, which has become a global epidemic, many new changes occur in the daily lives of individuals. The most remarkable of these changes is the use of the mask. It is believed that people who wear the mask before the inflammatory process carry a disease and will be at risk of infection while the meaning of the mask in the epidemic process is seen as a measure against the disease as well as a means of avoiding social pressure. This change is seen as the transformation of the "make" consisting of the use of the mask against the disease, the "make" consisting of the lack of use of the mask. In the light of the data of the work supported by the data obtained by semi-structured conversations with 20 participants in İzmir, Istanbul and Ankara, the mask was found to be used for the purpose of not opposing social and political decisions than an individual protection mechanism. Goffman’s study on the theory of “damming” (stifting) found that the mask was considered a “social normal” in the process in which the Covid 19 pandemic was effective, and that those who didn’t wear the mask were seen as people out of the normal before individual health. Therefore, the study has shown that the “social acceptance” point, which is the center of the “dama” theory, has been confirmed and has revealed the types of outcomes that have influenced daily life throughout the pandemic.
