Bu araştırmanın amacı, özel gereksinimli öğrenciler (otizm spektrum bozukluğu ve zihinsel yetersizlik) ile tipik gelişim gösteren öğrencilerin okul kavramına yönelik algılarını tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Şanlıurfa iline bağlı Haliliye, Karaköprü, Eyyübiye olmak üzere 3 merkez ilçede Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı iş uygulama okulu, ilkokul, ortaokul, lise ve bu okullardaki özel eğitim sınıflarına devam eden otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan olan 46, zihinsel yetersizliği olan 41 ve tipik gelişim gösteren 60 öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 147 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak çizme-yazma tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda özel gereksinimli öğrencilerin (otizm spektrum bozuluğu ve zihinsel yetersizlik) okul kavramına yönelik algılarının yüksek frekansta olumlu olduğu ancak bunun yanında okula yönelik yalnızlık hisleri geliştirdikleri görülmüştür. Aynı şekilde tipik gelişim gösteren öğrencilerin okul kavramına yönelik algılarının olumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Özel gereksinimli öğrencilere göre tipik gelişim gösteren öğrencilerin okul kavramına yönelik algılarının eğitsel yönünün daha ağırlıklı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions of students with special needs (autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability) and students with typical development towards the concept of school. The study group of the research consists of a total of 147 students who attend the business practice school, primary school, secondary school, high school and special education classes in the schools in Haliliye, Karaköprü, Eyyübe districts of Şanlıurfa province. Drawing-writing technique was used as a data collection tool in the research. As a result of the research, it was seen that the perceptions of the students with special needs were positive at high frequency, but they felt alone in the school. Likewise, it was observed that typically developing students had positive perceptions of the concept of school. It has been concluded that the academic content is given more weight in the educational aspect of the perceptions of the students, who show typical development compared to the students with special needs, towards the concept of school.
