As well-known, the flotation studies performed with particles assaying different shape factors showed that more angular particles can be floated with higher recovery values. This finding presents the role of shape factors on flotation processes and also suggested that higher incomes can be obtained by suitable particle morphology. In this study, the effect of shape factor on galena flotation was investigated. For this aim, shape factor analysis was performed for particles within the -74+38 µm size range. Micro-flotation and aggregation tests were carried out with samples of different shape factors under different KAX concentrations. According to the micro-flotation results, the bubble-particle interactions increased depending on the KAX concentration. Thus, the effect of the shape factor increased in accordance with better interactions of angular particles with bubbles. However, this effect was not fully observed at high concentrations.
