In this research, the correlation between the motor development and fluid reasoning abilities of 6-9 years old children was examined. The sample of the research consists of a total of 78 students randomly selected from the students in the 6-9 age group who are attending a private primary school. Two main tests were used to collect the data: Lincoln-Oseretzsky Motor Development Test and Analysis-Synthesis subtest of WJ-Rcog Cognitive Ability Test Battery. In order to determine the difference between the motor development and fluid reasoning abilities One-way ANOVA; to test the gender differences t-test techniques were used. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient technique was used to determine the correlation between the motor development and fluid reasoning abilities for whole sampling group and sub-groups. Findings related to Motor Development; there is a significant difference .01 in motor development scores of children according to ages while the level of significance between 6 and 9 year olds is .01. There is a significant correlation between motor development and fluid reasoning abilities of 6 year olds and the whole sampling group at the level of .01. There is no correlation among the subgroups of 7, 8 and 9 year olds. There is a significant correlation between motor development and fluid reasoning abilities in gender sub-groups at the level of .01
