Özet:

Surat al-Hucurat, contains very important moral principles. The Muslims are declared to be brothers in this surah. The people have been ordered and recommended to avoid the behaviors harming this fraternity. In today’s world where some elements of the media are used quite commonly, there seem to be many violations of rights incompatible with human dignity which harms the fraternity declared in Surat-al Hucurat. Ridiculing, blemishing and giving bad nickname are forbidden in the Quran. Since the Quran prohibits "ridiculing", "blemishing" and "giving bad nicknames", it is essential to avoid these behaviors in normal everyday life or in the media environment.  Suspicion, investigating one’s secret situations and gossip are forbidden in the Quran too. It is necessary to avoid each of these three prohibited things in any environment as well as to avoid them in the media environment. One of the most emphasized issues in the Surah is the attitude towards the received news. The extent of the damage that would arise has been highlighted if the news was accepted before making an investigation on the news and the reporter.  To conclude, we must know that the Quran's orders and prohibitions are applicable in any time and place, and we must observe these orders and prohibitions. Personal and social peace is ensured as long as the Quran's orders and prohibitions are observed. The method of this study is as follows: İnformation will be given about definition of the media and media types firstly. After that, meaning of the related verses of the Surat al-Hucurat will be given. We will apply to the books of the commentary for commentators’ comments about these verses. If there is the cause of the revelation of the verses it will be looked and it will be looked to the today’s media in the direction of findings obtained and missing principles of the today’s media will be highlighted.
