Bireysel ve sübjektif bir olgu olduğu için bilgi değeri daima ihtiyatla karşılanmış olmakla birlikte İslam geleneğinde rüyalar yaygın biçimde bilgelik ve ilhamın değerli bir kaynağı olarak kabul edilmiştir. Müslümanların bireysel ve toplumsal hayatında rüyaların rol oynamadığı hemen hiçbir alanın olmaması şaşırtıcı değildir. İslam tarihinin en başından itibaren rüyalar üzerine geniş ve zengin bir yazın alanı geliştirilmiştir. Tarihi süreçte rüyalara yönelik olarak temel İslam bilimlerinin yanı sıra felsefî ve irfanî geleneğin mensuplarınca geliştirilen yaklaşımlar ve ortaya çıkan dinî, edebî, felsefî ve kültürel nitelikli birikim, günümüzde sadece İslam’a özgü tarihî bir materyal olarak değil, sosyal bilimler paradigmasının gerektirdiği biçimde insanlığın kadim tarihinin özgün bir parçası olarak görülmekte ve geniş bir perspektifle çok yönlü araştırmalara konu olmaktadır. Son yıllarda kendi içinde bağımsız bir bibliyografya oluşturabilecek bir yeküne ulaştığı söylenebilecek bu verimli araştırma alanından elde edilen bilimsel nitelikteki ürünler, rüyalar üzerinden İslam düşüncesi ve kültürüne yeni bakış açıları kazandırmakta ve diğer bilgi kaynaklarının analizinin nadiren sağladığı bireysel ve özel deneyimlerle karşılaşmaya imkân vermektedir. Bu araştırma da hicri yedinci asrın fıkıh ve hadis sahasında temayüz etmiş simalarından Nevevî’nin eserlerindeki rüya anlatımlarına odaklanmakta, ilgili malzeme üzerinden genel anlamda İslam düşüncesinde, özelde Nevevî’nin ilmi-edebi mirasında rüyanın yeri ve işlevi üzerinden alana katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda Nevevî’nin eserlerinde dağınık halde bulunan rüya anlatıları bir araya getirilmiş, bunlar mümkün olduğunca rüya sahiplerinin kendi ağzından alıntılar halinde sunulmuş ve nihayet tematik olarak tasnif edilip hangi amaç ve işlevlerle kullanıldığı değerlendirilmiştir. Nevevî’nin vefatından sonra görüldüğü rüyalar da onun biyografisinin inşasına katkı sunan birer edebi-tarihi malzeme olarak bu çalışmada kendine yer bulmuştur. Nevevî’nin eserlerinde aktarılan rüyaların aynasından yansıyan görüntüler, bir yandan onun kişisel ve entelektüel biyografisinin gölgede kalmış bazı yönlerine ışık tutarken, aynı zamanda İslam düşüncesindeki rüya anlatılarını zenginleştirmeye ve rüyaların anlamı ve işlevine ilişkin bilgilerimizi genişletmeye imkan sunmaktadır.
Since it is an individual and subjective fact, the value of information has always been met with caution, but in Islamic tradition dreams have been widely regarded as a valuable source of wisdom and inspiration. It is not surprising that there is almost no place where dreams do not play a role in the individual and social life of Muslims. From the beginning of Islamic history, a wide and rich summer area has been developed over dreams. The approaches developed by the members of the philosophical and irfanic tradition and the emerging religious, literary, philosophical and cultural accumulation, in the historical process towards dreams, are now seen as an original part of ancient history of mankind as the social science paradigm requires, and are subject to diversified research from a broad perspective. Scientific-quality products obtained from this efficient research field, which can be said to have reached a threshold that can create an independent bibliography in the past years, through dreams bring new perspectives to Islamic thought and culture and enable you to encounter individual and private experiences rarely provided by the analysis of other sources of information. This research also focuses on the dream stories in the works of Nevevi from the sims that have been discussed in the Hicri seventh century fiction and hadith field, aiming to contribute to the area through the place and function of the dream in the Islamic thought in the general sense through the relevant material, in particular in the knowledge-related heritage of Nevevi. In this context, the dreams that are distorted in the works of Nevevî have been gathered together, they have been presented as much as possible in quotes from the own mouth of the dreams and have finally been thematically defined and evaluated with which purposes and functions they are used. The dreams seen after Nevevi's death have also found themselves in this work as a literary-historical material that contributes to the construction of his biography. The images reflected from the mirror of dreams transmitted in Nevevi's works, on the one hand, keeps light on some aspects of his personal and intellectual biography, while also enables us to enrich the dream stories in Islamic thought and to expand our knowledge about the meaning and function of dreams.
As a subjective and individual phenomenon, dreams have always been regarded as a valuable source of wisdom and inspiration in the Islamic tradition, although their epistemological value has always been treated with caution. It is not surprising that there is hardly any area of Muslim individual and social life in which dreams do not play a role. From the very beginning of Islamic history, a vast and rich literature on dreams has been developed. In the historical process, the approaches to dreams developed by members of the philosophical and spiritual traditions as well as the basic Islamic sciences and the resulting religious, literary, philosophical and cultural accumulation are nowadays seen not only as a historical material specific to Islam, but also as a unique part of the ancient history of humanity as required by the social sciences paradigm and are the subject of multifaceted research with a wide perspective. In recent years, the scholarly products from this fertile field of research, which can be said to have reached a volume that can constitute an independent bibliography in itself, provide new perspectives on Islamic thought and culture through dreams and allow encounters with individual and private experiences that are rarely provided by the analysis of other sources of information. This study focuses on the dream narratives in the works of al-Nawawī, one of the prominent figures of the seventh century in the field of fiqh and hadith, and aims to contribute to the field through the place and function of dreams in Islamic thought in general and in al-Nawawī’s scholarly-literary heritage in particular. In this context, the scattered dream reports in al-Nawawī’s works are brought together, thematically classified, and analyzed for what purposes and functions they are presented. The dreams reported in al-Nawawī’s works, while shedding light on some hidden aspects of his personal and intellectual biography, also provide an opportunity to enrich the dream narratives in Islamic thought and expand our knowledge on the meaning and function of dreams.
