Abstract: In the history of humanity, the phenomenon of surveillance has always existed as a type of control. Surveillance practices have changed with the emergence of modern states and developing technological devices. Surveillance has continued to exist as a type of control and discipline until today. In this study, the movie "The Platform" is built on the concept of panopticon used on surveillance systems in today's societies and focused on the semiotic analysis of metaphors related to food. Food that appeals to the five senses has symbolic meanings besides meeting physical needs. Cinema scenes are one of the environments where these symbolic meanings of food can be best interpreted. In daily life, food can be considered as a communication tool in itself. The food itself, or the way it is prepared or presented, may exhibit the ability to express emotions. This ability can help create cultural assumptions about society in films and help the audience express and question them. In the study, The Platform movie was analyzed through scenes with food representation.
