Özet:The Divan of Baki, the sultan of poets (sultan al-shu‘ara), who lived in the 16th century and was one of the most prominent Ottoman poets, has been investigated in this article from the social structural perspective. In the present work, explanations have been provided for some relevant striking verses found of the poet containing Ottoman social structure components that are selected and categorized under appropriate titles according to their subjects. In these explanations, we have used supporting examples that are found in other divans of Ottoman poets and have benefited from the sources of history, social history and particularly from the books of travels written during those centuries. In order to provide accurate meanings to some problematic words and phrases that are not resolved by the lexicons, predictions have been made by looking into the way the other poets use those words anticipating that a text could explain other text.
