Özet:The customer does not want to pay for non-value added activities. Value stream mapping aims to eliminate all activities that do not create value for customers. Value stream mapping is one of the most important techniques of lean manufacturing. In this study, value stream mapping study for a company operating in the automotive supply industry in Kocaeli has been applied. First, the current value stream mapping has been drawn, after that, the problems aimed to be corrected for the improvements have been prioritized by fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process method and the future value stream mapping has been obtained in the light of these problems by conducting improvements. Production manager, production engineers and craftsmen’s viewpoints have been consulted in the analysis of data and evaluation of the problems. Thus, the wastes encountered in the production have been eliminated. Time study has been conducted to get numeric values. The effective use of human resources in the production is also achieved through value stream mapping. Besides, measurable performance indicators have also been achieved for the company.
