Özet:

Although there are vast amounts of studies have been carried out on the history of Turkish folklore researches, it is fairly known the truth that the number of detailed studies on this subject are insufficient. This is because of rareness or absence or challenging conditions to reach the resources. Nowadays the level of folklore studies could be evaluated truly by means of former studies had revealed. In this study it has been asserted by the writer through collection travel carried out by the National Society of Education at August 19th, 1917 and the Baha Said Mr's works which has significant importance about history of Turkish folklore research. In order to clearify historical background, It should be useful to make brief review of the studies on folklore researches between the period of Tanzimat announcement to the beginning of the collection trip period.
