This study focuses on the feminisation of the poverty that is the another dimension of poverty as a long standing social problem. Women are directly affected from the implications of the poverty, and they are trying to use more effectively the coping mechanism with poverty on behalf of the family whom they live, and dependent persons of the family as child, elderly and ill persons, so that it is very important to consider the women poverty from spesific perspective. The main purpose of this study is to discuss the general characteristics of poor women, how they consider the poverty and themselves, and poverty related problems. As a result of this study, more than half of the participants are in early adulthood, their education level is low, and most of them are married. It is determined that most of the women and their families are living in the houses with poor conditions, they can not meet their basic needs such as food, shelter, and dress in a minimum level. Finally, as a result of profound poverty, most women described the poverty with negative connotations, and they experience violence at home, food (eating two meals a day), physical health (chronic illnesses), and psychological health (depression, attempt to suicide) problems.
