Abstract:

Corporate governance is important for the conservation and protection of the interests of investors, employees and the community in businesses. Corporate governance, which is the determinant of the trends and capabilities of enterprises towards institutionalization, is also a management style that provides important information to business stakeholders through corporate governance reports. The information in the corporate governance report, with the corporate governance rating notes obtained by rating companies, healthy information is obtained about the degree to which companies comply with corporate governance principles. The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a significant relationship between the corporate governance ratings of the companies and annual stock return, profit and loss circumstance and independent audit view. With this purpose, the data set of the study consists of the data published by the companies included in the BIST Corporate Governance Index (XKURY) in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The data obtained were analyzed through the TOPSIS Method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision making methods, and as a result of the study, it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the corporate management ratings of the companies and annual stock return, profit-loss situation and independent audit view.
