Abstract:

Due to the developments in the field of science and technology, many new professions are emerging today. Today it is possible to talk about thousands of different professions in Turkey, including the Tourist Guide. The occupations that individuals choose play an important role in their lives. Therefore, the choice of a profession has a very critical importance. In literature, it is possible to find many studies aimed at determining important factors in the choice of a profession. In this study, individuals have been investigated by influential factors in their career choices and influential factors in the fact that old tourist guides are an unactive guide and they are oriented to other professions. The result of the analysis of the data obtained was the conclusion that the environmental factors, the economic aspect of the guide profession, the legal regulations related to the tourist guide profession in Turkey and the factors related to the policy followed, the psychological factors, the factors resulting from the structure of the tourist guide profession and the political, political and/or military factors, despite the fact that the factors related to the physical characteristics of individuals are effective, are not effective.
